Why can't my users generate or preview Quote PDFs?
Starting with Release 2626 (June 26, 2026), Nue's Document Generation (DocGen) feature requires all users to have the Nue Basic Permission Set assigned in Salesforce. Without it, users may experience one or both of the following:
The PDF preview gets stuck on a loading screen and never loads
Clicking Generate Quote PDF shows a success message, but no PDF is attached to the Quote record
This issue typically affects non-administrator users. Salesforce System Administrators are generally not impacted because they have broader permissions by default.
How do I fix this?
A Salesforce administrator needs to assign the Nue Basic Permission Set to all affected users. Follow these steps:
Log in to Salesforce and navigate to Setup.
In the Quick Find box, search for Permission Sets and open it.
Locate the Nue Basic Permission Set and click on it.
Click Manage Assignments, then Add Assignments.
Select all the users who need access to Quote PDF generation and click Assign.
Ask the affected users to retry generating or previewing the Quote PDF.
Once the permission is assigned, users should be able to generate and preview Quote PDFs without any issues.
I assigned the permission, but PDFs are still not working. What should I do?
If the issue persists after assigning the Nue Basic Permission Set, here are a few things to try:
Ask the user to log out of Salesforce and log back in, as permission changes sometimes require a fresh session to take effect
Verify the permission set was saved and fully assigned (check under the user's record in Salesforce under Permission Set Assignments)
